Named for its distinctive "h" shape and nod to the SI unit for frequency the Hertz Chair embodies sustainable design and innovation.


Crafted from wire sourced at no cost from the Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub, the total production cost is just $12.


The Hertz Chair showcases the potential of discarded materials but also raises awareness about the growing e-waste crisis, advocating for greater societal and governmental action.

Thrifted chairs were stripped and woven with upcycled wired. Different weaving techniques were tested

Recycled Rebar heated with a Propane torch and bent into shape

Standard off the shelf rebar derusted with WD-40 and steel wool, marked, bent, then welded
